Technical Validation and Compliance
Independent operating-parameter testing, application observations and a transparent pathway toward formal product conformity.
Electrolyzer W laboratory evaluation by SENA
In August 2024, technical personnel at SENA Centro Metalmecánico in Bogotá evaluated the operation and documented parameters of an Efena Electrolyzer W under laboratory conditions.
What was evaluated
The two-hour evaluation covered equipment start and stop functions, oxyhydrogen production, gas flow, operating pressure, electrical input, reactor temperature, water use and the ability to supply gas to a test burner.
SENA stated that its personnel received no financial support for the evaluation and characterized its role as an impartial, nonprofit third party.
ISO 22734 compliance roadmap
Efena has completed an internal preliminary review against selected technical and safety considerations associated with ISO 22734:2019. This is engineering preparation for future formal conformity work—not an accredited certification.
Operating-parameter evaluation
SENA documented the functionality and selected performance parameters of the tested unit.
Internal conformity review
Design, electrical, mechanical, operating and risk-control considerations are being organized against applicable requirements.
Accredited testing
Formal testing by appropriately accredited laboratories and any required certification remain pending.
Application testing and continuing research
Efena also records application-level observations to help define future controlled test programs. These observations are kept separate from independent validation and product certification.
Single-vehicle emissions observation
A preliminary test on a 2010 Hyundai Getz recorded exhaust readings before, during and after an oxyhydrogen treatment. The measurements reported in the internal document were:
| Parameter | Before | During | After |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon monoxide at cruise | 0.22% | 0.02% | 0.03% |
| Unburned hydrocarbons at cruise | 59 ppm | 32 ppm | 23 ppm |
| Unburned hydrocarbons at idle | 27 ppm | Not reported | 20 ppm |
What the evidence does—and does not—establish
The SENA evaluation supports
- The tested unit produced oxyhydrogen.
- The unit operated continuously for the two-hour evaluation.
- Selected electrical, flow, temperature, pressure and water-use parameters were recorded.
- The tested unit supplied gas to a demonstration burner.
It does not establish
- ISO certification or regulatory approval.
- Fuel savings for every boiler, oven, furnace or vehicle.
- Performance outside the documented test configuration.
- Suitability for an application without site-specific engineering review.
Planning an oxyhydrogen application?
Efena reviews the host equipment, fuel, duty cycle, operating environment and safety requirements before recommending a configuration.
