What is oxyhydrogen?
Oxyhydrogen is a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen produced from water through electrolysis. An electrolyzer supplies electrical energy to drive the reaction. Efena evaluates on-site generation as one component of a complete, controlled application.
What is an electrolyzer?
An electrolyzer is an electrochemical device that uses electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. Different electrolyzer designs use different electrolytes, materials, operating conditions, and gas-management approaches.
Does electrolysis automatically make hydrogen “clean”?
Electrolysis does not directly produce carbon dioxide at the point of generation, but the broader environmental profile depends in part on the source of the electricity, equipment manufacturing, water treatment, and the final application.
Why generate oxyhydrogen on site?
Point-of-use generation can reduce the need for bulk compressed-gas storage and transportation. It does not eliminate the need for ventilation, compatible materials, leak prevention, controls, protective shutdowns, and trained operation.

What equipment can Efena evaluate?
Efena evaluates qualified industrial boilers, furnaces, ovens, pre-heaters, burners, selected commercial thermal processes, and suitable torch applications. Technical fit depends on the fuel, thermal load, burner, controls, ventilation, duty cycle, operating environment, and applicable requirements.
How is an Efena system sized?
Configuration begins with the host equipment—not a universal generator size. Efena reviews rated capacity, fuel, typical load, operating schedule, control architecture, available installation space, and baseline consumption data.
How much electricity and water does the system use?
Consumption depends on the selected reactor capacity, production rate, duty cycle, water-management configuration, controls, and site conditions. The applicable technical proposal should state the expected electrical and water requirements for the proposed configuration.
What is the Smart Regulus Control Unit?
It is Efena’s control platform for coordinating generation, electrolyte management, monitored operating conditions, application interfaces, alarms, and protective shutdown functions. The final control strategy is application-specific.
How much fuel or emissions reduction should a customer expect?
Efena does not treat a laboratory value or one field result as a universal outcome. Fuel-use and emissions results depend on the host equipment, fuel, load, controls, installation, operating conditions, and measurement method. A credible evaluation compares representative baseline and post-installation data within defined boundaries.
What determines operating cost?
Operating cost can include electricity, water treatment, approved electrolyte and consumables, scheduled maintenance, replacement parts, monitoring, and service requirements. It should be evaluated against the measured site result—not a generic efficiency percentage.

Can anyone operate an oxyhydrogen system?
No blanket statement should replace training and site procedures. Operation should be limited to authorized personnel who have received the applicable instructions and understand the host equipment, controls, alarms, shutdown process, and emergency procedures.
What safety functions can be included?
Depending on the configuration, the system may use monitored temperature and pressure conditions, flow or level sensing, ventilation requirements, ignition interfaces, alarms, and automatic shutdown logic. The final safeguards must be defined for the specific equipment and installation.
What electrolyte is used, and can it be substituted?
Only the electrolyte type, concentration, water quality, materials, and procedures specified by Efena for the particular equipment should be used. Substitution can change conductivity, corrosion behavior, gas production, thermal conditions, and equipment life.
Where are electrolyte-mixing and filling instructions?
Those procedures belong in the approved equipment manual and training—not in a general public FAQ. Electrolytes may be corrosive and require appropriate personal protective equipment, containers, labeling, spill controls, and trained handling.
What maintenance is required?
Maintenance requirements vary by model and duty cycle. Typical tasks may include checking fluid levels and quality, inspecting hoses, fittings, fans, valves, sensors, electrical connections, alarms, protective devices, and the surrounding installation. Follow the model-specific maintenance schedule and approved service procedures.
How do existing customers obtain support?
Use the Contact page and include the equipment location, system identifier, operating status, alarm information, and a concise description of the issue. For urgent safety concerns, stop operation according to the approved shutdown procedure.

What information should I provide for an initial review?
Provide the equipment type, manufacturer and model when available, rated capacity, fuel, burner information, operating schedule, facility location, recent fuel-consumption data, and the operational objective you want to evaluate.
What happens after I submit an inquiry?
Efena reviews the information, identifies missing technical data, and determines whether the application supports a more detailed assessment. Qualified projects may proceed to baseline definition, configuration, integration planning, and a site-specific proposal.
Where does Efena sell and provide support?
Efena sells internationally and currently has offices and dealers in the United States, Colombia, and Panama. Project support and commercial arrangements depend on the application and location.
