1. What is a hydrogen electrolyzer?

A hydrogen electrolyzer is a device that uses electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. This process is known as electrolysis and produces clean hydrogen fuel, which can be used for various energy applications.

2. How do hydrogen electrolyzers contribute to clean energy?

Hydrogen electrolyzers play a crucial role in clean energy production by providing a sustainable method of generating hydrogen fuel. This hydrogen can be used in fuel cells to power vehicles, industries, and even entire power grids without emitting harmful pollutants.

3. What is your average energy consumption per hour to operate the Electrolyzer?

Energy consumption is based on the size of the reactor. Our smallest unit consumes 0.29 KW/ hr and produces 150 Liters of HHO per hour.

4. How often does the equipment use water?

The equipment is designed to be connected to a water supply, allowing for continuous use. In models with water reservoirs, in average it uses approximately 1 liter of water every 10 hours.

5. What is caustic potash and why is it used?

Caustic potash, or potassium hydroxide (KOH), is a highly alkaline and corrosive compound that absorbs moisture from the air. It is used as an electrolyte due to its high electrical conductivity, stability during electrolysis, and compatibility with electrolyzer materials. KOH provides potassium and hydroxyl ions, enhancing water’s conductivity and preventing component corrosion. These properties improve the efficiency of oxyhydrogen production.

6. How to Mix Caustic Potash with Water?

A. Mixing Water with KOH: To perform electrolysis, you need to mix caustic potash with water. If the caustic potash (KOH) is 90% pure, the concentration MUST be 1.5%, which means 7.5g of KOH per 500mL of water. The dosage should be gradual; if you exceed the amount and it doesn’t dissolve correctly, the system will detect an error, shut down the power source, and the power will not be in the optimal operating range. If the concentration exceeds the required amount and is already in the 500mL reservoir, simply add a proportional amount of water until the KOH concentration reaches 1.5%.

B. Adding the Electrolyte:

1. On the top of the Electrolyzer W, there is a single screw cap. Open it and carefully pour the previously mixed solution (Water + KOH) into the 500mL reservoir using a funnel. If the electrolyte does not flow down, create a small suction at the upper HHO outlet nozzle.

2. Connect the 1/4″ PF68 hose to the upper HHO outlet nozzle, located next to the electrolyte intake cap.

7. Can I use another type of electrolyte?

No, although electrolysis can be achieved with other electrolytes, it is recommended to use the mixture of caustic potash (KOH) and water.

8. What is the operating cost of the generator?

The operating cost depends on equipment size which will affect water and electricity consumption. On average, our generators are highly efficient and offer a low operating cost compared to traditional energy sources or other green electrolyzer in the market today.
